Bass boost?

Canada Post Number: 122 Registered: Mar-07	Posted on Friday, June 20, 2008 - 03:22 GMT jl 500/1 amp with a PG xenon 10" uhm i was told bass boost on amp isnt used because it causes problems and can blow subs? i think it can handle it but i dont want to wreck it how can i test it?????????

Not only that, it sounds bad. It creates a peak at one frequency which is the opposite of what you want, a flat response.
