I know the amp runs 1000 watts rms at 2 and 4 ohms at 14.4V but dose it run the same amount at 12.6V?

I believe they're pretty tightly regulated, but what's it matter?

It will produce as much or more power than any other quality 1000w rms amp at either voltage.

well it just struck me today. when i bought this amp, i was deciding between the jl 1000/1 and this and i chose this because of the price. and i now saw that the jl ran the same wattage at 11-14V and i wasnt sure if the alpine did the same or similar. but thanks for your input

The JL amps have regulated power supply as well as output stage.

IIRC the alpines output is regulated but not the power supply, so voltage changes would affect output.

Is there any reason you're asking this question Tim? Your voltage shouldn't be that low while running an amp as efficient as the PDX series.

I was just making sure you weren't getting such low voltage Tim. I wasn't trying to be an azzhole or anything, I just don't want something to go wrong with your install.
