ok well i want a amp that is very efficeint at 4 ohms. my amp now i found out is only lie 65% efficient and its rated at 1480 rms so im only sending my sub like 800 watts. now i have an rl-s and it likes between 1200-2000 watts.. so what amps do you guys suggest. i have made posts about this before but no ones ever told me one that could put out this sort of power.

i have a PG Tantrum 1200.1 right now.

What size alternator do you have? Whats your price range? The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is maybe a kicker kx or zx2500.1

You could possibly do a 2ch bridged @ 4 ohms, but you would be taking away the efficiency part.

JL 1000/1

It's hard to climb considering you had a very good amp.

Alternater: 180a (bmw 328i '07 so im guessing it uses alot of the alternaters power. and really i wanna stay below like $500 but even thats more then i really wanna spend.

how efficeint are the zx2500.1?

would i be much happier with the jl amp?

JL and Kicker are good quality amps but they are not efficient........

I think an alpine PDX is what you're looking for

If thats your sub, then the reason your only getting 800 is because its at 3 ohms, not 2 ohms to get the 1200 ( or 1480 which if thats what on the birth sheet should be true).so its not the 65% efficiency fault

so you want something that is around 1800 watts at 4 ohms or 2000 watts at 4 ohms.

An amp of that calibur (1,800rms @ 4ohm) is going to cost more than $500, as that's a damn big amp.

As what Nate said, your amp is seeing a 3ohm load and not a 4ohm load becuase of your subs VC. An amp that does around 1,000rms @ 4ohm will suit you fine as it would produce around 1,500rms @ 3ohms.....
