What is the diffrecne with 4, 5 and 8 volt pre outs ???

I recently purchased eclipse in dash with 8 volt pre out is this good bad or average ??? and exacly what does this effect

The higher the RCA voltage, the cleaner the signal. However the difference is almost not noticeable. 4 volts is plenty for any amplifier.

So basically just keep it within in the amps limits and see everything correctly and i will be fine.
