I would stick with the zx 300.1 first off its probably going to be pushing around 400 already . Second off its cheaper and thats what you were looking for and third the zx 400.1 may be pushing your sub to its limit since it is only rated at 800 MAX and that zx 400.1 is going to be pushing around 500+ consistently all day . Get the ZX.300.1 and play it safe, That my opinion .

either way his safebro and for get about MAX ratings, the amp can be 400w rms 10,000MAX and still is a 400w amp.

That's why amps come with Level/gain, you adjust it to your preout voltage and sub needs

I would also say the kicker zx300.1 but make sure you get the cvr dvc 4 ohm so you can run it in a 2 ohm load. I have a pair of kicker zx 300.1's on a pair of cvr 10 dvc 4 ohm and they hit hard.i got the amps for $95 each on ebay and the pair of cvr 10 for $85 for the pair.
