So basically I have this Cerwin Vega Stroker 124 (4 ohm DVC) and I need an amp to power it properly. RMS handling is 2000 watts so I am looking for something around there to get some serious output. My budget is $500-600 so what would be suggested?

so an amp that will do 2000rms @2ohms... Look for a Kicker ZX or KX 2500.1

That amp is rated at 2500rms, wouldn't that damage the sub?

Are Alphasonik amps worth considering or are they not so good?

Also I need something that will accept a 4g wire or larger. I was looking at those Hifonics amps because the numbers look really good but after reading some commentary on here I am looking for something else.

Are MMATS amps still high quality or have they also gone to hell?

noooo, u should be fine...just set ur gains,eq's,etc. correctly and u will be fine

also ur gonna need 0ga wire, 4gauge wire is 2 small for that much current...

Hifonics and Alphasonik are both really questionable amps....Personally i wouldnt get either one of them...Ask for MMats they still have decent stuff...

i actually have 0 gauge wire but the kicker amps are listed as having smaller terminals, so do i just use an adapter to make it fit into the amp or what?
