the amp im getting has the gain on it for 1-6 volts, the headunit i was looking at only has 2 volt preouts, would i have to get a 4 volt preout headunit that 100+ more dollars to reach the rms of this amp?

No, Set the gain to 2 volts on the amp. It will not effect amps rms output. Increasing gain beyond 2 volts can lead to distortion and clipping.

ok sounds right cuz the gain goes down in volts the farther u turn it,which alot ppl dont realize, but i still might get the 4 volt preout cuz it has three set for the the speakers and subs
