Hey I'm gonna set up my system and was wondering if wires are different. What I mean: if I buy wires that cost me $150(CDN) or I buy wires that cost me $60(CDN) is there a dirrence, both 4 gauges just different price. I'm afraid that if I buy wires that cost $60 the wires might burn or melt I don't know though. And that $150 is probably better wires or they are all the same.

compare the two by wire count.. the more wires the better that comprise the 4AWG cable.
otherwise, they're pretty much the same.

I say wire is wire, both conduct power and energy. If it looks pretty much the same and they are both for use in car audio, then they are the same (almost) go for $60.

some wire is more supple making it easier to route around bends or corners, and under paneling.

the more strands of wire that comprise the cable, the more current it can handle. Keep in mind that electrons travel around the outside of each wire.
