A friend of mine wanted me to ask if anyone had any suggestions on how he should run his system. Right now he has two Alpine Type-X Subwoofers in a ported box run by two Power Acoustik A3000DB amps.

He just wants some outside opinions on if his box is right for the situation and any input on how he should run his system.

Thanks.

two of those amps is unnecessary. those do 3000w rms at 1 ohm if im correct. if the type x's are dual 4 ohm 1 of those amps is fine.

type-x's are more of SQL vs SPL subs

unless he plans on using small sealed boxes then dont run the 2 amps, 1 is fine

Hmmm well when he runs just one it seems like there is a loss of power to the subs, could this be because he doesn't have a capacitor?

"those do 3000w rms at 1 ohm if im correct."

I think they where benched at 1800-2100rms...and are 2ohm stable so thats about how much to each sub

Now the bigger issue, does your friend have an electrical system upgrade?? A cap will do nothing for his system right now....If he wants to run that much power he will need to spend about 500-1000 on electrical upgrades depending on his car... High Output Alternator, Big 3, Proper size wire, etc..
