I just picked up an Alpine 12'' Type-E subwoofer for $25. I want to install it in my Infiniti G35 6MT. I'm currently using the stock audio setup.

How would you recommend powering the sub? What amp, wire gauge, wiring setup, etc.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

What ohm is your sub and it is single voice coil correct? What is budget for amp?

As for wires, even with a small RMS I recommend no smaller than 4 gauge wire kit.

These are the specs:

Details:
» 12" 4-ohm subwoofer
» Kevlar-treated pulp woofer cone with Santoprene rubber surround
» dual oversized Nomex spiders
» frequency response: 28-1,000 Hz
» power range: 50-250 watts RMS
» peak power: 750 watts
» sensitivity: 89 dB
» top mount depth: 6-1/4"
» sealed box volume: 0.8-1.7 cu. ft.

I'm looking to spend ~$200 more on amp/wire.

Thanks.

what kind of a question is this Eric? Loud as compared to what? Twelve 15's in a van? no.
Two 8's properly loaded? probably yes.
Noone knows what YOU expect from them.
You didnt not tell which amp you intend to hook the subs to.
If you want to know which amp to use.. I would suggest the Kenwood. but it really depends on your expecations and the impedance loads involved and how well the enclosure is tuned/designed.

Well I am new here Eric, but that is called thread jacking where I come from.
I would think you would do best as to getting support by starting your own thread on it since it is different gear.
