Sundown SAZ is stable, RD amps are stable, Orion is stable, and few others. All depends on your budget and what you want.

Almost all MMats amps have a .5ohm verson. Just get a bigger amp and run it at a higher ohm...its safer and has a cleaner signal.

"...at a higher ohm...its safer and has a cleaner signal."

Disagree.
If an amp is designed to be capable of running a 1/2 ohm load it is no more dangerous than running an amp designed to run at any other minimal impedance.

Cleaner signal?
When a sub amp's rated or tested it's almost always done at "<1% THD". Most quality amps will do rated power at much less than 1%, and I think everything mentioned in this thread qualifies as "quality".

Opti is right. Here's some more clarification though on what running an amp at a higher impedance DOES do. More often that not, the damping factor goes up as impedance goes up giving amp great control over the driver making it "punchier" and less distorted.

On most amplifiers, efficiency also increases at higher impedances.

Yepers, I was going to say efficiency is decreased when going to .5 ohm if only rated 1 ohm. Either way, as long as you can't cook eggs on the amp, you are good :-)

Opti, I think he meant that the lower number ohms exert higher load on the amplifier, meaning it has to work harder. This usually means it will run hotter, distort more, be less efficient etc.

Yeah, Rob, those amps are too nice for me right now. I won't be getting any of the high end stuff in my car until I get my teaching gig together. In this car, I'm only going to swap some woofers and maybe some boxes.

opti your right. i was saying what isaac said, running a sub at .5ohm when it should be at 1ohm or higher only leads to problems. with the way they are making amps today noone should really need to run at .5ohm for everyday driving. they have amps that put out just as much power at 1 2 or even 4ohm.

"running a sub at .5ohm when it should be at 1ohm or higher only leads to problems."

I see. I definitely agree with that.

But running an amp at min rated impedance, whether it be 4 ohms or 1/2 ohm shouldn't have any negative (at least not audible) effects on the performance of the amp.

DF decreases? Sure, but the issue is - does it make an "audible" difference?

At several hundred watts or more -- I seriously doubt it.}
