i am just installing my new sub and i need to install my rca cables and my on off cable. in order to do this i need to remove my head unit... but i dont know how and my manual says i need to use a key release.. only problem is i dont have any my car came with the deck but not these things.. can ne body help me out.. im getting pissed and its getting dark out..

my head unit is a sony xplod XR-F5100

just stop by any car audio shop and ask an installer.
he'll have a whole drawer full of those dumb key things.
he should be able to pull the unit for ya in a few seconds.

the sony "key unit" is probably the metal strips about 4 in long, 1/4" across and very thin. Dull gray color. You put them in the sides and it clips into the hu side and you pull it out with that. Go to best buy, circuit city or something they will have them. probably charge u to use them or say you cant use them tho

Or you could make them out of a wire coat hanger. Trust me, it works.

i went into futureshop today and they hooked me up with the keys..
got it out, thanks for the help :-)
