I was looking at getting 2 saz-1500D's for 2 15" DD 3500's. But is there a better single amp i can get that puts out 3000 watts. and is 3000wats enuf for those subs. they'd be in a tcab ported box for the back of a Blazer.

For $1000 you can get a DD Z1 which is of the best high power amps out there bar none. That amp will do about 4000+ watts though, so it's more than you need.

You could also check this out, there is a guy selling an american bass VFL 200.1 for $515 on caraudio.com:

That amp will do 3000 watts. He had two and I just bought one

And what kind of charging system are you gonna have? The electrical system required to run either one of those amps will cost more than the amp.

Don't get that amp. They have a reputation for failing. SS has actually said that they don't recommend running them at 1 ohm.

" at dd's website it said that z1 puts out 3000watts so that seems to sound good. "

DD way underrates their amps. That amp will do 4000-5000 watts depending on voltage. And get a Kinetik battery instead of that yellowtop. That and a BIG alternator should be sufficient power.

That's a good amp but you would be underpowering the subs a little

But seriously, check out the link to the American Bass amps that I posted. I can't believe nobody has bought the second one yet; that is a awesome deal for a good quality 3000 watt amp.

You would want to run a 1 ohm load total to the amp. Just keep the gain down and it would be fine.

If you do get a Z1, you will have one of the best amps out there, and it's always good to have a little more power than you need. Just be advised that you don't have to spend that much, there are other good amps that do 3000+ watts that cost less.

i don't know why soundstream puts a 1 ohm rating and the amp isn't stable. hm... i don't think so. Maybe the efficiency drops a lot, but that amp put 3000-3500w rms for sure.

The other PCA series amp can run fine at 1 ohm, but the 3500 is known to have problems. There are several threads on caraudio.com and ROE about it, and one guy contacted SS and they said they no longer recommend running that amp at 1 ohm since so many of them have been going up in smoke.
