Hk4000d how do you achieve 17 volts?

I got a 2000 caddy deville. i got a red top in line with my factory alt. and battery. i was getting 15plus volts in another car, now i'm showing 13 - 14.7 volts in this car. it keeps changing. anyway i was thinking of getting the hk4000d for a good price but don't want to waist my time if i can't get the right juice to it. any help will be appreciated. got a good deal on 2k - 4k watts let me know.mattprudhomme@yahoo.com

from what i read :

by getting a custom built high output alternator which has a regulator which allows it do put out that much constant voltage ......

EA makes voltage regulators, contact Nate?
Also, I assume you would need a new battery that would support 17V wouldnt you ?

If it is a daily driver system then STICK TO 14 VOLTS!

If the system is competition based, then start asking about 17 volts.

What subs are you trying to run?

If he plans to use the system for competition only, not a daily driver. In that case he would be able to use 16 volt batts or what ever.
