Have a regular cab p/u with nice front stage done, I am now looking to spend roughly $1k on amp and $500 on a single 15" sub. I am most interested in SQ but would like the ability to thump big upon occasion. The internal bracing on my box pretty much necessitates magnet out mounting. Already have 225amp alt., yellow top and 0ga. in place.
Could I get some suggestions on spending this amount wisely?

Fi Q15 sub
Amp, whatever suits your fancy that puts out around 1Kw of power @ 1 or 2 ohms.
sub comes in dual 4 and dual 2 ohm models if I recall

Go with a Fi BL :-) It will give you a little more bump with loss of a bit of SQ over the Fi Q.

Tyler, only women feel like they wanna puke. If he's a real man and loves bass he will be good. I have a 15" in my pickup and I want more!

Mag is a great choice. The Q is just a better cost comparison. I preferred the Mag's shipping though. Excellent packaging. My Q arrived rolling around in it's box.

Here is my first 15" fiberglassed sub box with an Orion-made 'HzBass' installed in reg. cab 04 Ram. Box is 1.75 cu ft. with magnet reversed.

Hey habanero, if interested I can give you a deal on a MAG 15 and Sundown SAZ-1500D, or an RD Alpha 15 and SAZ-1500D. Shoot me an email and I will see what we can come up with.

Habanero, that is a very nice set up you have there. I do like the clean well planned look it has, just awesome! I had planned something very similar but I was going to use a high density 1/4" foam behind the vinyl like that. Looks like your is about 1/2" soft foam, is it all mounted on plywood or is it fastened right to he sheet metal?
