I am wiring my car and i just don't understand how Ohms fit in. Should I wire it 1ohm or 4ohm? Does it even matter? What way is better? Any suggestions would be helpfully.
Thanks

Just visit this site, and look for what type of subs you have and configure like they are displaying......

Yes it matters. If you go too low your amp will fry itself. your amp should be labeled as to what it wants to see on each output. If you use one spk per output, you should be ok. Most amps will handle 4 or 8 ohms, the ratings of most speakers. If you are hooking up more speakers per output you need to understand series and parallel connections. If you have a crossover connected between output & speakers go by the listing of the crossover input.
Good Luck

"most amps will handle 4 or 8 ohms"

yea, but you have to match the rms of speaker and rms that the amp puts out. and most amps are not able to be made to run @ 8 ohms. not many that i have seen
