are all power caps pretty much the same, no matter which brand? or would it be better to spend the extra $50-$75 on a popular name brand like lightning audio, or fosgate?

I'm guessing so because there not like amps just know that every 1 farad can hold up to 1000 watts. But in any case you really dont need one, its best if you just upgrade your alt.
For anonymous yes, there pretty good I have 2 BLseries 12 inch subs in a vented box 300w rms a piece. Im only hitting about 140 db's but the whole system cost me 300$ so thats good enough for now
