Hooking up a stereo on a cavalier

I am helping a friend hook up a new stereo in his 2001 cavalier but it does not have a hiring harness because someone cut his wires. I am not sure which one is which, I can figure out the speaker wires but i can not figure out the rest. could i please get some help

go to wal mart and buy a wiring harness for it.

usually yellow is constant, red is ACC and black is ground. you can test the constant and ACC wires to make sure which is which with a DMM if you have one.

there may be a blue wire, which would be for a power antenna.

then theres the speaker wires....not much else to it.

if having the plug end is important, you can pick one up at just about any place that sells car stereos.

galen you need a gmco bypass to put in the radio heres a link you can look it up on www.bestkits.com
speaker wires tan ltbrn ltgrn dgrn ltblue darkblue and yellow brown you might have to go to main ign harness for acc if u have to connect to the brown wire that is acc solder these wires and tape
