Question about Amps

Okay guys Im new to car audio so this is gonna sound like a retarded question so bare with me, whats the difference between a mono channel amp apose to a multi-channeled amp.

mono meaning one has one output. they are also called Class D amps, but some mono amps are other classes too. they are used for subs.

Multi channel amps have multipul channels/outputs and can play in stereo. they are usually class A/B amps, there are other classes of these too. they are used to power your mids and highs.
