hey

i have a rockford fosgate 400W RMS amp, and 12" Orion 500W RMS sub, i've tried to hook it up to a PC power supply.
The power supply is a 450W ATX PS.

I've shorted a ground rail and a green rail from the 20 pin connector to keep the power supply on.

I've connected a yellow rail to the B+, and REM terminal on the amp.

I've also connected a black ground wire from the power supply to the GND terminal on the amp.

When I give the power supply power from an outlet from my house- the amp LED will light up red, and slowly fade away as the power supply turns off at the same time.

I've stopped trying, I'm afraid that I might ruin my amp. I've read somewhere that the amp may not be properly grounded but im not sure what the case is.

I've also tried to disconnect the RCA plugs, incase that the amp may be tring to ground itself through the sub.

So in the end, I cant get the amp working, the power shuts off immediately.

Thanks for the help in advance.

no power supply has the power to deliver...... the amount of power (current) to power an amp...... the most they supply on the 12v rail is less than 30amps...it can power an amp, unlses ur just tryin to power it to just test it.....
