it seems that all the good amps have about 10 amps of fuses for every 100 watts that it can produce.

does that mean that a 1200 watt amp with 90 amp fuse really cant do 1200 watts.... or are the two factors not directly related??

they are related somewhat, but not always. example:

i think the a8000t has 2 30amp fuses

but it can do 800 rms after being bench tested.

and also... if an amp is CEA rated to do ... lets say 1000 watts rms...does that mean that it will actualy do it

Does CEA confirm ACTUAL REAL power ratings

nope. CEA is not always right.

example: new sony amps are cea rated, but if tested, they dont put out that power.

i have heard before that there is ways around the cea, or little things to get around, and still get the approval.

You will know if the amp willl put out the rated power because of the quality brand that they are. most ALL kicker amps are overrated and they are known as a good brand. they CEa rated, same with jl, memhpis and a ton of other companies that do put out the rated power. someone like sony, everyone knows they are not a good car audio brand and do not make efficient amps, so u know that it wont.

audiobahns are not CEA rated, (a8000t) but they do do the rated power. so its all bought the brand and how reputable they are. (if you know anything bout car audio)

Not so fast....

If an amp is CEA rated...that means that they have benched them and they put out there rated power...what you really need to look at is how many volts it took to reach that power....

Remember a watt is a watt...when buying an amp u are paying for quailty..and a reputation....

Funny - of the 8 or 10 legitimate bench tests I've ever seen on a Sony - every one of them met its specifications.

I'd question the technician, not Sony's CEA ratings.
