There is no such thing as SPL HU. Any mid/high price HU will work just fine.

Spl is more about electrical supply, drivers and amps. Signal is secondary.

And it doesn't have to be 8V. Almost Pioneer or Alpine will work just fine.

If you want 8V you should get Eclipse, I am pretty sure they make some of those:-)

Yes, but at the same time - higher the RMS voltage of HU the lower you will have to set amplifier's gain (or it will clip). And on the other hand - lower RMS voltage, the higher you will have to set the gain on that amplifier:-)

So let's say you have an amp X with rated power 500W RMS and input sensitivity 0.2V-16V. Well you are not gonna get more than 500W no matter what you do, your HU could be 1V or 16V RMS - it's still the same 500W that your amp can put out:-) Only difference will be gain setting:-)
A,B,C - you match the HU output with amp's input =500W no matter what:-)
It's something like this:
2x5=10
but yet again
5x2=10 (as well)
:-):-):-)
