I just got an Alpine V-12 mrd-m605, powering a Alpine SWR-1042D, the amp is rated at 400w @ 4ohm, and 600w @ 2ohm...right now i have it connected at 4ohm, would it be worth connecting it 2 ohm...better sound?

definately run it at 2ohms, that sub can easily handle the 600w and will sound great.

Youd def get more power out of it.

if you only have 1 of those subs, then you can not be running it at 4ohms unless you only have one voice coil hooked up.....

yeah, running it at 2 ohms works much better, yeah it was only connected to one voice coil at 4 ohms...the amp is nice...anyone that has this amp, what settings do you have set on your amp...i've been tweaking with it, trying to get best sound possible
