Hey. my friend needs help. he has a 1200 watt Jbl amp 2 12" 1600 watt jbl subs and a JVC hu. When the head unit gets turned up to a certain volume the amp and subs cut in and out the subs are wired in a dual 4 ohm load. i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if you could help me with it. thanks.

it could be a ground problem. usually always a sign of an inadequate electrical system too.

if they are dual 4, then the should be hooked up series/paralel, see www.the12volt.com under woofer wiring to make sure it is wired that way.

Are you using a bass remote??? Reason why i ask is because i had that problem wen i turned the bass remote up and the sub amp would go into protect mode...The Gain on the JBL amp is up to high
