Gold Member Username: GlasswolfNorthWest, Michigan USA Post Number: 2639 Registered: Dec-03 | not always rick. depends on the load, and the amp. example: JL slash series amps put out the same power regardless of load, so then yes, no matter what you throw at the amp between 1.5 and 5 ohms, it puts out the same power.. so a 500/1 would be 500w to one sub, or 250w each to two subs. however, most amps aren't regulated that way so if you have an 800 watt @ 2 ohm amp, and one 4 ohm sub, that'd be 400w to the sub, and adding a second 4 ohm sub would make a 2 ohm load, giving 400w to each sub for a total output of 800w. try www.bcae1.com tells all about calculating load and output. it's all about Ohm's Law |
