Amp wiring issues

First post on the forum.

I have a two channel phoneix gold amp bridged running to a pioneer sub. I ran the power from the battery, grounded the amp, and tapped my rear speaker low level input wires. I spliced a set of RCA cables - one end has the rca plugs for the amp and the other end I cut off the plugs, wired the grounds together and kept the right and left wires.

I am getting poping and feedback through my rear speakers as well as my sub. I can't leave it plugged in because the poping is loud.

What could be the cause of this? I have been told that a ground loop isolator could fix the problem. Your thoughts/suggestions are appreciated.
