have a older V-12 amp (mrv-t707) and have a single 4ohm DVC 10" sub and know that my only ways to wire this is in Series because my amp is not 2 ohm stable. My question is what would happen if i wired them independantly each voice coil to a channel of my 2 channel amp also what would the power to the subs be at with a 8 ohm load in series? Specs below:

MAX Power (at 14.4V,EIAJ)

-Bridged 4 ohms : 600W x 1
-Per channel into 4 ohms : 225W x 2

RMS Power (at 12V,20Hz-20kHz)

-Bridged 4 ohms : 240W x 1 (0.3% THD)
-Per channel into 2 ohms : 120W x 2 (0.3% THD)
-Per channel into 4 ohms : 70W x 2 (0.08%THD)

RMS Power (at 14.4V,20Hz-20kHz)

-Bridged 4 ohms : 340W x 1 (0.3% THD)
-Per channel into 2 ohms : 170W x 2 (0.03% THD)
-Per channel into 4 ohms : 100W x 2 (0.03% THD)

When doing that do i set the amp to low pass (LP)?
also i called alpine and they said that i would tear the sub up wiring it like that, which did not make any sense.
Thanks for the fast response.
