My sub amp has a 12db crossover slope and my HU is set at 6db slope. Now does this mean im getting a 18db slope total for my crossover slope to my sub?

Not sure how this works.

I am pretty sure that in this situation having both set at 80 hz and your amp with a 12db slope and your deck with a 6 db slope the amp is going to override the 6db slope signal and send on the 12db slope signal because it is a steeper slope. Wait for Jonathan to tell you exactly but I am pretty sure this is how it would work.

I'm pretty sure both will be in effect. The head unit sends out the signal, already with the 6 dB slope on it.. So the amp dosnt get a full signal, since it's already filtered by the head unit. Then, the amp takes the signal, and will put it's crossover on signal it recieves.

They'll add together and make a 3rd order (18db/oct) slope.

ok, thanks / because there is no way of turning the amp crossover off. That is why, i wasnt sure.

So if i set the HU to 12db slope whould that come to 24db slope total etc...

Is this how it usually works.
