I'm looking to buy a two channel amp for components, the speakers are 100 watts rms. When looking at an amp, do I add 22 watts from the head unit onto what the amp puts out? I can shut off the amp on my head unit, but those extra watts would be nice.
Your HU's speaker outputs are completely seperate from the rca outputs. You will only get amplifier power. You shut off your hu amp by not connecting speakers to it.
