is there a such thing as a bad ground, or will it just not work? what will it do to the sound of the subs?

im not to sure if htere is a bad ground or not i just know it is either grounded or not, it does nothing to the sound of your subs, the amp is what needs to be grounded and it can be a fire hazard if not grounded.

you ground wire must be as short as possible and must be the same size as power wire

there are bad grounds, needs to be short as possible and on a clean metal surface(usually scrapped to get bare metal.) but can go under a seat bolt or something like that, and it needs to be tight.

My subs sound like crap and thats the only thing I haven't checked yet. the wire is only 8" long. I didn't know if it would mess up the signal to the subs. thanks

your subs could be bad...in a bad box...the gain could be set to high..too low..

I've checked the phase, I got a new headunit and put some polly fill in and it seems to help a little.
thanks for the help.
