I've got an Alpine MRD-M1005, and an MRV-F345. Total wattage is about 1400 wrms. I bought the f345 a few months after so I had already bought 4 guage for the m1005. I just want to run 1 wire to a distribution block, but will 4 guage be enough? Most specs say it's good enough for 1400 watts, but is that cutting it too close?

your safest bet is to run 0guage to the back, and split it into two 4guage lines. if yer running yer subamp at 4ohms (700W RMS), i SUPPOSE you could run 2guage to the back and split it into two 4guage lines, but i'd still reccommend 0guage.

yes 4 guage can handle 1300W RMS, but only up to 10ft, so unless yer driving a clown car...

Take a look at this chart to determine what you need.
