Depends on your sub and trunk space. For more bass, go ported.

Skip bandpass and go ported instead. Tune the port or ports to 28Hz - 35Hz. It's better to use 6" pvc, you will get less wind noise. They can be bought from your local plumbing stores.

sry but what is the pvc for? and do i make the box out of 3/4 mdf?and how do i actuly tune it?

First box..wanna make sure i build it right.

Since it sounds like you want sq rather than spl, and have not built boxes before, why not just make it sealed. This would make construction simpler, not require as much tuning, and would (probably) provide better sound quality.

Go to www.bcae1.com and read the section on "basic enclosure design." It has a calculator for sealed and ported box design, as well as tuning the ports.
