I was curious to find out if its better to use the crossovers on the HU or AMP or BOTH ?

Right now im using the crossover on my HU for my 2 channel ppi a600.2 since it doesnt have any crossovers but on my crossfire vr1000D i turned on my crossover to LPF and set it at 80hz and on my HU i have the LPF at 80hz also and it sounds good this way. Is this the right way to do it ?

I find it's best to leave the controls on your head unit all at the default level, and make all adjustments possible amp-side... If anything, use your head unit to turn DOWN frequencies, not boost them.

If you dont have a crossover on your amp, then yes, using your head unit is better than nothing, but might even want to think about just getting a third party equalizer, that way you can adjust the settings for several amps right there on that one unit.
