Hey, i went to my local audio shop after researching a bit on what subs i wanted.

For the subs mentioned (i have not decided 2 or 4 ohm version) the owner recommended using a rockford fosgate t5002. This amp is rated as follows:
75x2 @ 4 ohm
150x2 @ 2 ohm
250x2 @ 1 ohm
500x1 @ 2 ohms bridged

AVG. Actual Power:
227x2 @ 4 ohm
369x2 @ 2 ohm
527x2 @ 1 ohm
1054x1 @ 2 ohms bridged

Would that amp even be able to power two idmax 10inch subs to any potential at all? i was thinking more along the lines of one step above that amp, the rf t8002 whcih can give:
324x2 @ 4 ohm
510x2 @ 2 ohm
697x2 @ 1 ohm
1394x1 @ 2 ohms bridged

Would the rf t8002 amp work well enough? What other amps would you recommend for two idmax 10" subs that are no higher than $500?

thank you.

1 of those subs really only 'need' around 750/800wrms so thats what u should be looking for .

An amp that does around 1500/1600 wrms @ 1 or 2ohms but for that budget u will b hard pressed to find it .
u can also get a 2 chan amp that ahs the wattage .

look @ the various brands on www.woofersetc.com .....

Ok, I have heard great things about the ED Nine.1 and that it is underated and could get 1500 watts.

Suppose I were to get this amp. What subs would I then need to achieve the supposed 1500 watts? Would I need the 2 or 4 ohm version and how would it be wired?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm a noob at this. My first system. :-)

Thanks for the help so far.

o well i was not aware that the ed nine.1 wasn't that great of an amp.

i guess i could stretch my budget for an amp up to maybe $600.

but what brands should i be looking at? im pretty sure i can't afford a zapco amp. lol

ED9 is ok according to the very few ppl on this forum who has used it - but i think it that those 2 subs could use some more power .

like a Diamond Audio D61500 or Mmats D2000.1 .....
