If you can swing it, I would go with this model instead. Better power handling and better SQ. It is also a DVC sub giving you greater flexibility.

Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1D

The picture they show looks like a Kappa series anyway, not the Reference serices they have listed.

Their prices are also high, find somewhere else to purchase stuff.

hey pikeshp. instead of buying from Futurecrap at high prices for the lowest line of infinity sub. Go on E-bay and search for the kappa perfect models (their high end stuff). they go for 100$ canadian plus 40$ shipping. So you get a lot better sounding sub and its a little less money.

I got a 12" kappa perfect in a custom built sealed box and it sound soooo much better than any setup that futurecrap has in their sound booth!

well, i'm guessing there's probably not much difference considering the 2 subs are pretty well the same specs. Infinity probably just gave it a new look.

About boxes, Infinity subs are geared more towards sound quality. so droping them in a generic ported box that futureshop has will make it sound a little louder but sound terrible because the box size and port size is totally wrong. Put the infinity sub in a sealed box with just the right size acording to infinity specifications, and you get real clean, tight, and clear base notes. or if you can build a ported box to infinity specifications, with a perfect tuned port and the right interior volume you will still get that clean accurate base and it will be a little louder because of the port. I myself am not a carpenter so I just built a simple sealed box. ported boxes are a challenge to build to the exact specs.

Stick with the new sub, and 2 vented box. The first box is "sharing" the port, meaning when one sub goes in, the other one comes out. The 2nd box seems like it has it's own chamber.
How much discount do you get? Is it 50% off? Even at that level of discount, it's still a rip off. Their RF $899 amp only costs $360.
