I have an 88' lincoln town car. My audio system
starts with a Sony mp3 player CDX7710, Infinity
6.5 component's in dash, Pioneer 6.5s in door,
& Infinity 6x9s in rear. I have 2 U.S.Acoustics
2080 amps powering the Infinity 6.5&6x9s.
And I have 2 Infinity 1230w's in a sealed box 1.25
(each 4ohm and 300rms 1200peak)
I will also be getting an Infinity 12vq or 12dvq
(vq is 89db dvq is 92db both 400rms 1600peak)?
My questions are:
What would be some good amps for the 1230w's and
for the 12vq or dvq
What would be a good box for the Infinity 12vq
And which is better the dual voice coil at 92db
or the single voic coil at 89db

Please Help

Well first if i were u id take the components out of the dash thats a very bad place to put them.Take the pioneers out of the doors and put the infinitys in there. Then get one four channel amp to power the components and the 6x9s.And its not good to mix differant subs it just wont sound right. For a good amp for ur subs look at jl,mtx, jbl, zapco, xtant. If ur on a budget then id go with an mtx or jbl there nice amps for the money. As for the box i would just stick with the sealed.

Well if u have 2 of one kind of subs in the trunk and ur putting another sub in the back seat thats not the same as the other 2 then that would be mixing subs. And y do u want a sub in the back seat?Do u want ur stuff to get stolen? Im just tryin to help u trust me components in the dash is not good at all.Thats the worst place for speakers especally components.I unhooked my speakers on my dash in my truck and just running a set of infinity kappa perfects components in the doors thats all i need.

Ive done google search's and I know about all the common amps. I looking for some suggestions on some quality non-mainstream amps that would go good in 400w rms 1600w peak apps.
and dual 300w rms 1200w peak apps.

I agree the comp. might sound a little better in the doors but then they r subject to rain water there. But I wasnt looking for advice on that.

And u lost me on the mixing subs theory

400 watts RMS alternator... you really shouldnt need a new alternator that's not "mainstream". You can figure out how many watts your alternator produces, by using amps x volts = watts.

Excessive Amperage is pretty good, and wouldnt really call them mainstream (compared to like, ohio gen) if you still feel you need a newer/better alternator. :-)

Billy bob - might consider something from hifonics...they're not mainstream, as in sold in most retail stores, etc.. Or maybe check out elementaldesigns.com. What's your budget like? This is a pretty mandatory factor to know, when someone asks what kind of amp they should get.

No price range. It can be $100or$1000 as long as they bump those subs good.
Isnt there ne one that has exp. with infinty subs that can suggest some good amps.

Go with some jbl amps they are good for infinity subs.A while back on the infinity site i was looking at some of the install pics and they actually used jbl amps for their subs and speakers not their own infinity amps.So if that tells u somethin then go with the jbls. Also they r pretty cheap.

I checked out zapco, sounds nice being that its made in the u.s., but I didnt see anything that really fit my setup. Their mono amps are a/b class.

yes, that means CLEAN POWER:-O
i just bought a class A/B amp to power my sub.
i am certain that any class A/B amp from one of the highest end companies would outlast and outperform any middle to lower-grade class D.:-)

"What would be a good box for the Infinity 12vq
And which is better the dual voice coil at 92db
or the single voic coil at 89db"

as far as sensitivity ratings go, they tend to mean very little when you start packing on hundreds of watts and you put the sub in a custom enclosure.

choices. I dont know. Im just tryin to get a system that makes my heart stop. And hopefully do it with Infinity subs.

I don't understand why more people don't have Infinity subs... I got the 1230w's cheap ($35 a piece) and they have great SQ. I just need that type of great deals on Amps for cheap with great SQ to meet up with the subs. I have everything ready in my car except for a box for 4 subs or 2 boxs for 2 each, and the amps. I mean everything - )ga wires ran, 200a breaker, 8 farad cap, plenty of 0-4 ga wire. I NEED THE LAST FEW PIECES TO THE PUZZLE! Someone help us.

NOW. GRRR

Anyone know of an amp that'll push 1200 watts RMS at 4 ohms or how I can push 4 Infinity 1230w (300rms 1200 max)4ohm subs by one amp to AT LEAST the rms rating of the subs - maybe a little higher, by a quality amp, but cheap also??? If I can do anything - run the subs parallel, in series, bridged, whatever to get them down to whatever ohm to run them at least to their rms rating by one amp, SOMEONE LET ME KNOW.

Help bob too LOL.

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/wiringwizard.asp

also, what kinda quality amp you want??? how much you willing to spend???

Hmm sounds like a good amp for me and bobs situatiion...
The 1230w's are 300w RMS and 120w MAX - mine are 4ohm and SVC

Oh and if that amp runs 1200rms at 1 and 4 ohms, which would be better to run???
