hahaha i went and bought a new system for my truck 3 weeks ago ( about $2200 ) had it for a week and i blew the damn thing and now i have no time to go anywhere to get the warranty taken care of so im driving around with this system that doesnt even work...makin me flip

so anyways i bought a MTX MXA6001 amp is this amp any good?

if you blew any of the speakers, it's due to one of two reasons:
your amplifier gains were set too high or
you lack a sufficient charging system to handle the current draw of the amplifier(s)

end result is the same: amplifier clipped and destroyed the speakers.

i think its the amp thats blown...it puts a high pitched sound through the subs...and the gain was at about half maybe

lack of sufficient current.

even unhooked from the cd player it still puts a high sound through the subs

you did check things like your ground connection already I'm guessing
anyway the amp is probably blown, but you should find some time to go get it replaced by the place that installed it
it should be under warranty

yeah i checked the ground

well thanks anyways GlassWolf just to ask can bridging the subs to 8 ohms blow a 4 ohm amp?
