Grounding my engine?

Would running extra wire from my alternators ground to chasis be considered a Engine -> ground wire?

the alternator grounds through the engine which has a block-to-chassis ground line that should be upgraded.
the alternator itself doesn't ground directly to chassis.

Hmm... So wouldnt using the point at which the alternator grounds to the engine, and attaching a beefy wire, and running it to a secure chasis point, be similar to upgrading the vehicles engine to chasis?

GlassWolf, could you tell me where my block-to-chasis ground is located at, on a 98 Camaro?

not offhand, no. look in a haynes manual, a GM serviec manual, or on google.
it shouldn't be too hard to find.
