Hello. My car audio destroy my car battery.. :-s. I had to bought a new one. I am planning to put a gel battery in my trunk, and give the power to the amps directly from that battery. I have 2000 rms amplifier.. My question is the following. How many amperes I need in that battery? Can you give me advises for a good gel battery? Im going to put that in the trunk, so I think I dont need a new alternator... thanks

You will need more than just a 2nd battery. Try isolator. Without that, a weaker battery will discharge the other one.
Go check out Walmart, they have the yellowtop battery.
Read the thread in this section called "please help." It will contain the links you need for HO alternators.

read ALL of those pages.
the first is a link to Optima's site. They make good spiral cell deep cycle RG batteries.
The second link explains battery types for cars.
The following four links explain charging system upgrades, what you need to do, and why.
