One 400RMS Kicker mono and two '03 DVC 2ohm type-rs?

The KX400.1 birthsheet says its 470RMS. So those 2 type-rs are gonna get somewhere around 230+RMS each rite? Is that enough power for a ported enclosure? Cuz a guy at this shop told me that ported need lottsa power..more than my 200RMS each. Currently the subs are in a sealed enclosure with separate chambers and they pound hard! He says that if go ported with wat i have i wont get that kinda impact.. what should i do? I like how hard they're hitting now..but i also want them to be able to go low and deep. I heard how ported adds 3db..so for my 2 subs thats like +6db!! Seems like a shame to let go of those extra dbs..
He's lying to you. They will get LOUDER with the ported enclosure. It'll take LESS power to get the same movement out of the subs. Less restriction. Instead of the pressure getting greater inside the enclosure, it moves out of the port. Should be fine man.
