I'm looking for a "budget" amp for a friend of mine, he'll be running two 12" Eclipse Ti's with this amp. This is an SPL install. I have no experience with these amps, but they're decently priced, and he only has about $500 (maybe more). I know Orion is a "good" brand, but what about that Elemental Design? Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks guys.
I've heard the same thing about ED, and I've heard some horror stories about elemental amps. There's a thread on soundillusions.net somewhere that shows the boards of the nine.1 and nine.2 compared to two hifonics boards. They looked identical.
I've looked at the Ed stuff an found it to just be one more marketing company. Buy product from china slap brand name on it and you've got an Amp company. I could be wrong but when I got my hands on one, I was not impressed in the least. I think there's a hand full of amp makers and 10 times as many brands.
