I just installed am mrd-m605 in my car. Im looking at the diagrams for wiring the sub and it seems like they want me to go directly from the amp to the sub, is this correct, i have been out of the game for years and have never wired a sub like this any input is apprectiated.

Go here, and then just look down at the list of what configuration you need.

yeah i understand parallel and series but its just that ive never wired a speaker straight from the amp to the voice coils of the subwoofer. so my assumption of running the speaker wires directly from the amp to the voice coils of the woofer is correct right?

Well normally you would run the speaker wires to the enclosure spades from the VC's, I guess I'm not getting what you mean!

yeah thats what i mean. normally speaker wires to enclosure spades, amp wire to enclosure spades outside basically 2 sets of speaker wire, in this diagram i am seeing it is only one set of speaker wire.

Yes that is right!!! Sorry about that! It does get confusing when you have all the +'s and -'s to put together to get your right ohms!
