install looks very good. wise to lose that p miller crap.
I'm sure it's loud, but I'd like to know what you ran other tahn the subs and amps.. what source, signal processing, components, electrical upgrades, etc.. Car audio is about more than just bass to me.

personal thoughts:
don't like solobaric subs. poor reliability, and poor SQ at high excursion. at least they're cheap and loud though, and Kicker stands behind warranties.
Why does anyone put 50 series or lower profile rubber on an SUV with those gaudy chromed rims? It destroys the purpose of an SUV.. off-roadability and harsh terrain drivability. Now you'll have trouble with speed bumps.. let alone snow, ice, mud, dirt, or anything that isn't a freeway. Just seems like you'd have been better off with something that wasn't designed for bad gas milage and off-road performance if that's what you wanted to do to it. Nice paint color, but those rims are just tacky.
I'd have also mounted the amplifiers differently myself, but at least it was done creatively.
It's a shame you've lost every ounce of functionality from that SUV by putting on those rims, and using up every last inch of cargo room in that thing.. but at least you've got a loud stereo I hope you don't use to annoy other people in public.

ok a few more thoughts.. I don't like Jensen at all.. with that much money invested, I'd dump jensen and go alpine, pioneer premiere, or eclipse.. or even clarion for a head unit.
jensen, now called Dual, is bestbuy fare. very poorly made stuff.

you're 18.. who paid for this new Yukon and the $13,000 system for it? Do you deal drugs (which would explain the "hustla" comment unless you're female and posed for the magazine) or did mom and dad buy it for you as a graduation present? come from old money? inheritance? hold the patent on Leptoprin diet pills? Holding Tony Little's wife hostage for ransome? Inquiring minds want to know.

That was funny GW. I think your time off from surgery is making you hyper or something.
Don't think I've seen you post back to back before.
Chauncey, the install looks good but why so many amps? It's not like the Kicker's L7 are power hungry. Too bad you didn't pick quality subs in your design.
What other upgrades do you have in the car? I hope you have HO alternator at least.
I'd give you 8 for appearance, and 6 for design.

I like the paint. Rims, no. I don't get why you did that, I'm 100% with Glasswolf (as I almost always am...). I like the install, it's cool looking, but I would have done it with different subs/amps. Looks cool, but you also loose your ability to f*ck in the back. That was always my reason of owning an SUV... Looks good, but only good for show/contesting. Honestly, I call a bluff, and don't actually believe you own that. Just my opinion though.

Oh yea, I give it a 3.

As far as the rims go, they look pretty nice. Functionality? I'd say 90% of America's SUV's never leave the pavement anyways, but speed bumps definitely should prove uncomfortable.

I too would like to know what you have for mids and highs. My guess is whatever they are they ain't keepin up.

Install - 8
Overall - 3

um...

is it just me or do any of you guys find yourself asking:

"why do you have 5 SX1250.1 amps when you only have 4 subs?"

or is one of those amps a 4ch SX amp...and not a 1250.1?

Yeah, rims like those will destroy the suspension over time, ruin handling and make braking worse.

I think everything's been said about the stereo system. You'll need to get rid of the Jensen components soon anyway from failure of some kind, no rush.

And Glass brought up a good point...18 years old with a 13k system+Yukon? Are you Oprah's nonexistant son?

don't get mad. we're just having some fun by the way. A lot of people would give their left nut to have that vehicle and system I'm sure. I'm just really picky about installs of high end systems. mainly because I've ben doing them for so long myself, I look at everything as what I'd have done if I'd installed it.

anyway, the Kicker SX amplifier support strapping, so he may have at least two or four of the amps strapped together although I'm not sure what difference that'd really make for 4 L7s. One of those amps is enough to drive two of those subs to full output anyway. The SX1250.1 is a mono class D amp and can't run full range, so he's got to have other amps for the components. Especially if they're keeping up with four fifteens. I'm betting four of the amps are 1250s and one is a 4 channel SX series amp in a similar casing. It's possible the kid just doesn't know exactly what he's got. I did get a bit more info on his setup from clicking his name though. He outlined more of it there in his bio.
I posted my second post after I saw that myself

Honestly, I wouldn't have spent that much, on THAT. $13,000 in MY pocket would have some Eclipse and Zapco, which is what I'm doing anyways, and I'm a LONG ways from 13k.

SUVs take all the challenge out of it, that's half the fun of it in the first place. They also don't have the easy to clean vinyl seats like I grew up on :-).

For a guy who said he's kinda new - but judging on the way your stuff is set up i find it looks pretty damn good . Must give u an instant headache when cranked up huh !?

Alot of people say L7 SQ is low but sure u knew that & built your to be just plain LOUD ! .

About the rims not too bad looking but u have to know how to drive with those , unless its going to be a show car . I personally don't like sooo looow profile/skinny looking tires & would have gone with a smaller diameter rim & wider profile tires to get a better ride/more comfort .

Overall - I'll say 8 on install/appearance !

sorry i didnt get back to you guys fast but since i have a job i can't stay online all day like you guys, any way I don't have a $13,000 system thats about the total for everything on or in my truck (paint, rims, etc).

Also i see that alot of you guys dont like my rims, but to each his own thats why they make so many different kinds.

Another thing the way I have acquired the money for my truck and all the stuff in it, is that I have been lucky enough to co-op with Marshall Space Flight Center for almost 3 years (they pay very, very nice).

PS ( I do miss my back seat for reason posted above)

Some more stuff in my Yukon

Brute Series 375 amp High Output Alternator
Stinger SP1000 Power 2 Dry Cell Battery
Stinger 3 Farad HPM Digital Capacitor
Toyo Proxes 285-40-24 Tires
Motto-MT100-6-26 rims
Viper 791XV security system/ with remote start (Got for $75 brand new, I think the MSRP $500 or better)

Well now. More detail? I'm starting to buy it :D. And it must be a crap paint job, and a crap car, because $13,000 total is kinda low... The car alone is worth more than that... The paint should have been about $1,500-$3,000 if they did it right. The rims should have been around $3,000 plus tires (dunno about them). Dunno man. Did you install it yourself?

Right now I am a Jr. Contract Specialist and basically what i do involves the procurement of supplies, services, construction, or research and development using formal advertising or negotiating procedures; applying policies and procedures; evaluating contract proposals; and administration, termination, and/or close out of contracts.

And I have plenty saved up for college

I make about $42,000 per
Also I never said my car was fully paid for yet (I make payments)

LiL Jon, GlassWolf is not married, and I think he's still single, so he can afford to spend $3000 on a HU. Besides, he's smart enough to invest on a good product.
Either Chauncey Brown is a big liar or a very lucky kid. At 18, making over $42K (since he said he worked there for 3 years, he must've started at 16, is that legal?), with no mortgage/wife, sounds almost surreal don't you think?
I am not jealous of his system/luck/money. It's just too bad he wasted his money on some $hitty subs, that's all.

Fully agree with Lil John - give the guy(CB) a break !
So many people on this forum post & hardly anybody shows pics of what they did whether its done good or bad . If the stuff is really his then for a newbie i find it came out good enough .

$ matters ? - what good is $ if u don't spend it on things u want if u can very well afford it , then do it ! .
As for personal tastes - if we each had that budget then every single 1 of us would buy a different car with a different audio set-up . In car audio its all an adventure trying new stuff & experimenting sensibly , of course it does take $ like everything else in life .

So see it this way - the guy just posted some pics to display what he has & likes ,so don't personally attack him & please don't attack me neither for posting my comments !

Audio equipment was made to sound good, thus not more pictures. Though there are some pretty awesome looking systems out there.

It would be better saved or not spent at all. There seems to be a mass consumerism induced from all the media in this country. Do you spend more than you make in a year all on your car?

I'm not attacking you, either, just stating a point, no offense :-)

anyway my only real issue with the rims on that SUV was functionality. You're in AL though, so it's not like you hve to deal with a lot of snow. I'm used to MI winters where you'd never get rims like that out of the driveway in the winter lol
The 275/60/15s on my car never see snow. I have a jeep for winters myself, which sits a lot higher than the car and isn't as babied.

glad to see ya made it back after the initial post, and didn't get run off by all the posts.. haha

I see them on ebay rarely but once in a while.
If I recall I got mine online, and paid about $1700 for it new.

Normal Alpine dealers won't be able to get it most likely. You need a dealer that sells F#1status gear, which is like Pioneer versus Pioneer Premier. Not every Pioneer dealer sells Premier.
Makes it more "exclusive"

You guys won't have to worry too much about cold winters soon. The global warming will take care of it.
If the average summer temperature went from 36 celsius to 50, would people survive? I know some parts of the deserts are already 50, but what if all the cities were that hot?
Just makes you wonder.

Global warming my azz. It's all a big hype. Democrats just love to waste our money, and they'll find the most rediculous things to waste it on as well. Just think of how large out atmosphere is, how many miles thick it is. Do you really think all the smoke and pollution created by humans is enough to destroy it? Nature will even it's self out. It has for millions of years, right? (if you believe that bull-$hit too...) If something does happen, I'll be long gone anways :-). Overall, I'm not too worried about crap like that, I really doubt God's gonna let our ozone deteriorate and have all the people on earth slowly fry to death.

Joe, have you seen the average temperature all over the world? Canada alone is way above the norm. We had 16 days of extreme heat alerts this year and it's only July. Last year, I think for the whole summer, we had 12 or less.
2/3 of US is in heat alert. If the average temperature hits 40 next year, maybe we're in for some serious he11.
I don't think I'll be able to blast my stereo when it's 40.

Joe, we're messing the earth up. We're releasing carbon into the atmosphere that has been buried, collecting for hundreds of millions of years. If every human being were to die today, it would be many thousands of years before the damage we've done would be erased.

I know things have been a little hotter, but weather patterns change, and the earth goes through different cycles. Even though I don't believe in them, what about the 2 or 3 ice ages? My only point is, that it may seem like it's getting worse, but maybe were just having a spell of a few hotter summers. If the earth really is getting so much warmer, then how come this last winter broke temperature records for low temperatures? Coldest winter in many many years. Even if the arctic is melting, do you know at how slow of a rate that is?

Sometimes I feel like way too much money is wasted on rediculous research, when there is so much more potential out there. Instead of creating new renewable sources of energy, we have people trying to figure out how humans and chimps are alike, or how people's soup choices affect their personality's (yes that was a real research topic.) Who the heck cares anways?

Hahaha. Cars is a pretty good example of how nuts the environmentalists are. Does anybody realize how much crap companies have to go through just so the cars meet emmissions requirements? Anybody in here have a newer vehicle that's running really crappy because of carbon build up??? Compression is so low, and other things are tweeked so much just to meet exhaust standards, that it's almost impossible for somebody to have a new car and not worry about problems such as carbon. Why all the worry now? People ave been driving cars for years, why is it now that they are clamping down so hard? You can thank your local tree-hugger...

Yeah, my car has all the emmissions stuff ripped out. The previous owner did it...so blame me for all the global warming!!lol
