2 channel amp wiring

Can it be wired to run a 12" sub (alpine type r) and 6x9's? the instructs say yes, but the guy at the local shop recommended not to. confused.

Kenwood KAC279S have the tri-mode on the amp.. you don't need the crossover. The local shop guy just want to sell more stuff for you. It all depend on your budget.. but running an AMP for each of component is always a recommend.
