I have two 12" Infinity reference 1230w, JVC KD-G310 HU, Rockford Fosgate P3001 amp at 2 ohms, ESA 100w RMS 2 channel crappy amp for front 6.5"s. It's been recommended to me to use 4 guage wire for power, but I found a kit at Walmart that has 5 guage, for $40CAN, Compared to a set with 4guage for $180Can, Worth the difference in price?

Probaby the only difference is fit. The 5 gauge will be able to handle the wattage, but amps usually accept 1/0, 4, or 8 gauge wiring...depend on your how good your amp's crimp system is , it may or may not slip out. I'd also recommend looking on ebay or the internet for wiring kits as you'll find better names for less than crappy names at walmart.
