CAN I RUN MY NEW JL SUB WITH MY OLD AMP

I have an Phoenix Gold OCTANE R5.0:1 MonoBlock Amplifier will this amp be able to power my new sub. The amp is 500 watts at 2ohms and 250 watts at 4ohms
