My buddy we'll call Al..hehe...has an audiobahn class d 1200 watt and a power acoustik 2 channel 1200 watt amp which he first hooked the audiobahn up to his kicker L5 12" sub. When he did this, the amp went into protetion mode as did the p.a. amp when he swapped amps. I have never had that problem with my amp which is powering the same sub. If anyone could help me figure out what did this and or if there is any way to get the amp out of this protection mode then please by all means I'd like to help my poor broke buddy.
-THANKS, S_X

Sub that made no sense, lol. Danny, what he mant was... you may have something wired wrong, and the amps don't like the load.

Danny H, make sure you check the gain/level control on the amp. If set incorrectly, it'll force the amp to go into protection mode.
Watch the sub wiring also. Stay within the amp's minimum ohm requirements.

Yea, he has a dual 2 ohm wired at 4 ohms right now and that's what I figured. Thanks guys but still, can we fix the amp? Or another words is the amp shot?
