Do I need a cap for a 350 watt amp/sub combo?

i'm just gettin an alpine m301 amp and an infinity kappa perfect 12.1D sub

do i really need a cap with this system?

it's optional, but it would help. unless you need a new alt. if you get one, try it. if you notice power loss(i.e. dimming lights ect) then remove it. it's not a very high powered system you have so supplying power shouldnt be a problem. all you need is a .5 farad.

since capacitors don't do anything for charging system voltage, you never actually "need" a capacitor.
