So now I am thinking a 3 channel amp will do what I need better than a 4-channel. I just want to run a set of components and a sub...thats it. My question is can the two channels running my components be set up for 4ohm on the amp and the subwoofer amp channel set for two ohms? I want the higher wattage output of two ohms going to the sub, but the component speakers are 4 ohm.

I don't even know of a 3 channel amp
use a 4 channel amp, and bridge the rear two channels.. give them a 4 ohm load and you'll get full power @ 4 ohms bridged.

So does Kicker---kx550.3 It is around 200 bucks. It's class AB for the fronts and D for the sub.

200 bucks for refurbished that is. its a little light on the watts for the fronts, though. I still want to know if I can run the amp at 4ohm for the fronts and 2ohm for the sub?
