actually i've seen a lot of people at bass comps using the blue tops, i guess they have more reserve or something. idk how it'd work in a daily driver though

I though they used them because they're made for running without the engine running... like to power a trolling motor etc

I hate the internet-impaired.
try using a web browser and going to Optima's website.
they explain EVERYTHING there.

lazy people are such a waste of time.

the "battery that works best" is the one that fits your application.
if one worked the best for everything, they'd only make one product. Not several.

no, getting a yellow top isn't gonna solve the problems a HO alternator will.

different issue
the yellow top helps when the engine is off
the alternator is the sole source of current when the car is running

if people would look the easy stuff up themselves, this forum would slow down enough that it'd be manageable.
as it is now I skip 70% of the posts and only bother reading ones that pique my interest.
the reason I answer so many posts is because nobody else seems capable most of the time.
If someone answers a post roperly then I skip it

yellow tops are dough for a battery, 130-190 bucks they range from at autozone.com never planned on spending that much... should I look into getting one after I get a HO alt instead of getting one now so I dont burn it out with my system?

well, its not that nobody else knows anything.. just not that many people answer some of the trickier questions.. either they aren't around much, or don't have the time, or whatever..
quite a few around here know a lot. there's just so many new threads here every day it gets hard to keep up.
